In 1974, at the height of his success, singer Benito Di Paula was invited to compose and record music for the national soundtrack of the soap opera “O espigão”, shown on TV Globo in April and November of that year, 1979. Benito then performed a samba, “Último andar”, in which he criticized the unbridled progress of big cities full of “concrete and plastic”. Never included in the artist's official discography, the current samba was forgotten in the composer's songbook until it emerged, 52 years after the original recording, as the greatest rarity in the repertoire of the album that Benito Di Paula's son, Rodrigo Vellozo, will release on July 31st. Entitled “Benito Di Paula – Rodrigo Vellozo invites Rodrigo Campos, Thiago França and Fumaça”, the album reinforces Rodrigo's connection with his father's work throughout ten re-recordings of the samba composer's original work such as “Do como que a vida quer” (1976), “Tudo está no seu place” (1976) and “Maria baiana Maria” (1976), songs released 50 years ago and revived by the singer on the album. As the title of the album already indicates, Rodrigo Vellozo sings Benito Di Paula with the touches of musicians Fumaça (percussions), Rodrigo Campos (cavaquinho, guitar and acoustic guitar) and Thiago França (saxophone and flute).
