Born in Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia, Kaylee came from a multi-generational deaf family. She began her career appearing in commercials and rose to prominence at the age of nine when she starred in a public service campaign for the video messaging app Glide, widely used by members of the hearing-impaired community. In 2021, Kaylee played Jia in "Godzilla vs. Kong", a teenager who communicates with King Kong through sign language and lives on Skull Island with Rebecca Hall's character, Dr. Ilene Andrews.
