Government authorizes new competitions with 316 vacancies for Central Bank and Federal Revenue
BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - The federal government authorized this Monday (6) the holding of public competitions with 316 vacancies for the Federal Revenue Service and the Central Bank, to reinforce the bodies' teams...
The opening notice must be published within six months. There will be, in total, 146 vacancies for the Revenue, distributed between 116 for tax analysts and 30 for higher-level tax auditors. In the case of the BC, there will be 170 vacancies, one hundred for auditors and 20 for prosecutors, both at a higher level, and 50 for technicians, at an intermediate level.
As Folha de S.Paulo showed, part of them will be directed to the area of banking supervision, as the BC's role in financial institutions returned to the center of the debate after the Master crisis. There were members of the monetary authority defending the strengthening of the teams, after what was considered a series of failures in the supervision of the financial system.
The Central Bank requested an even greater number of vacancies, 560 in total. According to the entity, this would help to restore a workforce that has been reducing over time due to retirements and reduced hiring of employees.
As revealed by Folha de S.Paulo, the CVM (Securities Commission) will also have its staff reinforced by around 50 technicians. The body is another that has been criticized for not having acted in relation to fraud involving Master, mainly in operations carried out through investment funds linked to the financial institution.
The new hires at the agency would be an effort to meet the demands of STF (Supreme Federal Court) minister Flávio Dino, who established a restructuring plan for the commission.
The Central Bank also maintains political articulation around the PEC of autonomy, which expands the institution's administrative, budgetary and financial autonomy. The proposal was approved by the Senate's CCJ (Constitution and Justice Committee) in 2026 and awaits a vote in the plenary.
