WHAT IS BOLSA FAMÍLIA?

HOW TO CALCULATE INCOME PER PERSON?

It is necessary to add up the income of all residents of the house and divide the amount by the number of people. Temporary benefits, compensation and income transfer programs, such as Bolsa Família itself, are not included in the calculation.

WHAT IS THE AMOUNT PAID BY BOLSA FAMÍLIA?

The program guarantees at least R$600 per family, with additional payments depending on family composition. If the sum of the values ??does not reach the minimum, the Complementary Benefit covers the difference up to the floor.

The amount paid is R$142 per family member, and children up to six years old receive an additional R$150. Pregnant women, children and teenagers aged seven to 18 receive R$50 per person. Babies up to six months old can generate an additional R$50 to support breastfeeding.

WHAT ARE THE RULES TO CONTINUE RECEIVING THE BENEFIT?

In addition to the income criterion, families must meet requirements in the areas of health and education. These include prenatal care for pregnant women, compliance with the national vaccination calendar and monitoring the nutritional status of children under seven years of age.

Minimum school attendance of 60% for children aged four and five and 75% for children and adolescents aged six to 18 who have not yet completed basic education is also required. When enrolling the child in school or taking them for vaccinations, the family must inform them that they are beneficiaries of Bolsa Família.
