See where to watch the 2026 Emmy nominations, which come out this Wednesday (8)

The main Emmy 2026 categories will be revealed in a live broadcast at 12:30 pm (Brasília time). The broadcast starts at 12:30 pm Brasília time and can be followed on the Television Academy website, YouTube and social networks Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.

The live presentation will be attended by Emmy winners and the TV Academy leadership. The online ceremony will be led by Liza Colón-Zayas ("The Bear") and Jeff Hiller ("Somebody Somewhere"), with the participation of the chairman of the Television Academy, Cris Abrego.

Some of the most awaited nominations will appear earlier on American TV. The categories for best variety series and best reality competition will be announced on NBC's "TODAY" program between 8:45 am and 9:20 am (Brasília time).

The expectation is that traditional programs will once again appear among the variety nominees. "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert", winner last year, is seen as a likely name in the running, alongside "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver", "Saturday Night Live", "The Daily Show" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!".

In reality competition, "The Traitors" tries to maintain its winning streak. The program has won the category in the last two years and is cited as a favorite for a new nomination, along with "The Amazing Race", "RuPaul's Drag Race", "Top Chef" and "Survivor".

The 78th edition of the Emmys will be broadcast live on September 14, a Monday. The awards ceremony will be broadcast in Brazil on the TNT channel and the Max streaming service.

Before the main event, the Academy holds the Creative Arts Emmy, focused on technical categories. The ceremony is scheduled for September 5th and 6th, the Saturday and Sunday before the Emmys.
