The week begins with a warning for heavy rain and storms in Rio Grande do Sul. According to Climatempo, the action of a cold front and low pressure areas maintains the risk of windstorms, flooding and rising river levels in the state.

Meanwhile, the atmospheric blockade prolongs the summer season in the Southeast and Midwest, favoring above-average temperatures and low air humidity.
Check the weather forecast region by region:
South
This Monday (20), the action of a cold front, associated with a low pressure system in the interior of the continent, the formation of another low pressure over the ocean, close to the coast of Uruguay, and the intense transport of moisture promoted by the Low Level Jet, keeps the weather unstable in the South Region.
The main highlight continues to be Rio Grande do Sul, where the rain remains persistent and voluminous, especially in the southern half, in the Missões, in the west, in the Valleys, in the central region of the state and in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre.
This increases the risk of flooding, flash floods and rising river levels.
Instability occurs from the early hours of the day in the southern half, in the west, in the northwest and in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, with moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms and isolated thunderstorms.
Throughout the day, showers continue in these areas. As the cold front advances, instability will also reach the northern half of the state by the end of the day, while decreasing in other areas of the region.
In Santa Catarina and Paraná, the approach of the cold front and the flow of moisture cause an increase in cloudiness throughout the day, with a chance of isolated showers in the extreme west of Santa Catarina and in the southwest of Paraná.
In much of the South Region, temperatures remain high, mainly in the north, northwest and west of Paraná, which continue to be under the influence of summer weather.
In these locations, temperatures are above average for July, with low levels of relative humidity during part of the day.
Moderate to strong wind gusts are also expected across the region. In the southern half of Rio Grande do Sul, however, the week begins with lower temperatures, highlighting the strong thermal contrast.
Southeast
In the Southeast, atmospheric blocking, associated with a mass of dry air and a high pressure system over the South Atlantic, close to the region's coast, continues to predominate and prevents the advancement of instabilities.
The summer continues to affect São Paulo, areas of the Triângulo Mineiro, southern Minas Gerais and central-southern Rio de Janeiro.
This condition maintains a sequence of sunny days, temperatures above the climatological average and low levels of relative humidity during the afternoon.
In other areas of Minas Gerais, humidity also remains low.
Only the coast of Espírito Santo and the northeast of Minas Gerais continue with the possibility of light and isolated rain due to the circulation of maritime humidity.
The coast of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in addition to the south of São Paulo, may still register moderate to strong winds.
Midwest
In the Central-West, the action of a mass of dry air, reinforced by the atmospheric blockage, keeps the weather steady throughout practically the entire region.
Summer remains established over Mato Grosso do Sul and in the southern areas of Goiás and Mato Grosso, favoring sunny days, temperatures above the average for July and low levels of relative humidity in the afternoon.
In other areas of the Midwest, temperatures also increase throughout the day, while relative humidity remains low.
Moderate to strong wind gusts are also expected in Mato Grosso do Sul and the south of Mato Grosso.
Northeast
In the Northeast, the transport of moisture from the ocean continues to favor persistent rain between the coast of Bahia and the coastal strip that stretches from Sergipe to Rio Grande do Norte.
Rain may occur with moderate to heavy intensity, with a risk of disruption in some areas.
On the coast between Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará, isolated and occasional rain showers are also forecast.
In the interior of the region, the action of the dry air mass maintains the predominance of sun, high temperatures and low levels of relative humidity.
Moderate and occasionally stronger gusts of wind are also expected in inland and coastal areas.
North
In the North, the heat and high availability of humidity maintain conditions for rain showers in the northern half of Amazonas, in Roraima, Amapá and in the northern, northwestern and coastal areas of Pará, with a risk of isolated storms.
In parts of Acre and in the south and west of Amazonas, the rain occurs weakly.
In Rondônia, in other areas of Acre, in the east and interior of Amazonas, in other areas of Pará and in Tocantins, firm weather predominates, with high temperatures and low levels of relative humidity in the afternoon, especially in the southern half of Pará and in Tocantins.
