Severe weather conditions in the south of the country caused by the advance of a cold front, and dry weather with heat peaks in other regions: check Climatempo's weather forecast for this Saturday (18):

South

The presence of a low pressure area associated with the advance of a cold front keeps the weather very unstable in Rio Grande do Sul. There is a risk of severe storms, with intense rain, electrical discharges, hail, gusts above 90 km/h, supercells and the possibility of tornadoes in the center-west and south of the state. The largest accumulations, exceeding 100 mm, are expected to reach the south, Campanha, south coast, southwest, west and Santa Maria region, with danger of flooding and overflows. In Santa Catarina, the weather remains firm, with increased cloudiness in the west. In Paraná, the summer season maintains sun, above-average temperatures and low humidity. In the northern half of Rio Grande do Sul, the weather remains firm, but with an intense north wind and winds that can reach 100 km/h.

Southeast

The atmospheric blockage over the South Atlantic keeps the weather firm in most of the region and strengthens the summer in São Paulo, Triângulo Mineiro, south of Minas Gerais and center-south of Rio de Janeiro, with temperatures between 3°C and 5°C above average and low humidity in the afternoon. Only the northeast of Minas Gerais and the coast of Espírito Santo have light and isolated rain due to the circulation of maritime moisture. There is a predominance of sun, mild mornings, the possibility of occasional frosts in Serra da Mantiqueira and warmer afternoons. Humidity is very low in the west and north of São Paulo and in the center-west, Triângulo and northwest of Minas Gerais, where rates can reach between 12% and 20%. The coast of Rio de Janeiro may register moderate winds.

Midwest

The dry air mass keeps the weather steady throughout the region. The summer season gains strength in Mato Grosso do Sul, south of Goiás and south of Mato Grosso, with temperatures between 3°C and 5°C above average. The sun predominates and there is no rain in most of the region, but the west and northwest of Mato Grosso may receive light and isolated rain due to the humidity coming from the north of the country and the daytime heating. Humidity remains low, mainly in Goiás, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso do Sul and the eastern half of Mato Grosso, with rates between 12% and 20%.

Northeast

The circulation of maritime humidity maintains moderate to heavy rain on the coast of Bahia, between Salvador and Ilhéus, and between the coast of Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte, with a risk of storms between the north coast of Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte, with a chance of heavy rain. Precipitation may be accompanied by lightning and gusts of wind. On the north coast, between the coasts of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará, it rains lightly to occasionally moderately, with greater intensity in Fortaleza. Inland, the weather remains firm, with low humidity in the center-west of Bahia and the southern half of Piauí and Maranhão.

North

Tropical convection, reinforced by the flow of Amazonian moisture and heat, maintains rain showers with thunderstorms in much of the region. The largest volumes occur in the northern half of Amazonas, in Roraima, Amapá and in the northwest, west, north and center of Pará. In Acre, Rondônia, southern Amazonas and the coast of Pará, the rain is weaker. In the rest of Pará and Tocantins, the weather remains firmer. Temperatures remain high and humidity remains low in Tocantins and in the south, southwest and east of Pará.
