Young Laisa Vanessa Silva Viana, aged 21, died today after remaining hospitalized for 12 days in serious condition as a result of a traffic accident recorded on June 24th, in Sinop. She was driving a red Honda Titan when she was hit by a Marcopolo Volare Fly 10 school bus, belonging to the municipality of Santa Carmem, at the intersection of Juçaras and Violetas streets, close to Residencial Jequitibás.

On that occasion, teams from the Fire Department provided first aid to the motorcyclist, who suffered a head injury. She was taken to the Regional Hospital in serious condition. She remained hospitalized since the accident, but succumbed to her injuries.

According to information gathered on the day of the incident, the school bus had gone past the mandatory Stop sign and hit the motorcycle, which was traveling along the preferential route. With the impact of the collision, one of the bus's side windows was broken, while the motorcycle's front part was completely damaged. The circumstances of the collision continue to be investigated by the competent authorities.

Laisa's body will be laid to rest at the Luz e Vida memorial, starting at 7am this Tuesday. The burial will be in Sinop, in the late afternoon.
