According to the Nova Rota do Oeste concessionaire, the team was called at 6:56 am to respond to the incident at km 401 of the highway. Preliminary information indicates that the two trucks were traveling northbound when there was a side collision.
With the force of the impact, both vehicles overturned and fell from the viaduct, stopping on the north side road.
Two rescue teams from Nova Rota do Oeste and a team from the Military Fire Department were mobilized to provide assistance to the victims. So far, no information has been released about the number of injured or their health status.
Due to the accident, the north marginal road was completely closed. Traffic is being diverted to the urban perimeter until the service and vehicle removal are completed.
The causes of the collision will be investigated. Videos recorded at the scene show the trucks overturned after the viaduct fell and the actions of rescue teams.
