Rota Urbana event brings together skateboarding, breaking, capoeira and vintage cars in Lucas do Rio Verde

During the afternoon, the public watched skateboarding competitions, breaking, a golzinho championship, a capoeira acrobatics festival, cultural presentations, an exhibition of vintage cars, a vinyl record fair, crafts, a food court and music with DJs.

Mayor Miguel Vaz was at the event and highlighted the importance of offering leisure spaces for the population. "It's very important to see the city alive. Sport and culture have the role of bringing people together and making them occupy public spaces. The most important thing is to see families participating and enjoying these moments of leisure."

Rota Urbana was created in 2015 and, over the years, it began to bring together different manifestations of urban culture. In this edition, the program also gained more space for sports.

The event's creator, Júnior Munhoz, explained that the proposal was born focused on breaking and hip-hop, but grew over the years. "We realized that Lucas do Rio Verde gained other cultural manifestations, such as skateboarding, cosplay, MCs and capoeira. So we came up with the idea of ??bringing everything together in one event. This year we also brought urban sports and Rota Urbana became a leisure festival."

In addition to the competitions, the event also opened space for local artists, artisans and cultural workshops. The Department of Culture and Tourism participated in the program by taking to Casa do Artesão, an exhibition of works produced in art workshops and capoeira activities.
