One of the main points of the meeting will be the definition of the name that will occupy the vice-president spot on Pivetta's ticket. The tendency is for the nomination to come from another party. The governor has already stated that he has a preference for a woman, possibly from the metropolitan region.
Behind the scenes, one of the names mentioned is that of deputy federal deputy Gisela Simona, from União Brasil.
Another detail of the articulation is that the Republicans should not launch a pre-candidate for the Senate. The tendency is for the party to support União Brasil, which should present former governor Mauro Mendes as a candidate for the vacancy.
During the convention, the party must also define the names that will compete for vacancies for state deputy and federal deputy.
Alliances and support
Pivetta has stated that he intends to build a broad alliance to run for re-election. So far, the governor already has the support of the PSDB-Cidadania federation.
The tendency is for the Republicans to also walk alongside União Brasil, which is federated to the PP, and Podemos, a party led in Mato Grosso by state deputy Max Russi.
"We will seek the support of all parties. We will have a robust alliance", stated Pivetta on other occasions.
