Natasha and female leaders create a letter with 18 proposals for MT women
Female leaders from different segments of society and the pre-candidate for the Government of Mato Grosso, Dr. Natasha Slhessarenko, signed last Saturday (04/07), during the “Mato Grosso para Elas” meeting, the Letter...
The preparation of the document brought together women who are part of the movement supporting Dr. Natasha's pre-candidacy, including former councilor Edna Sampaio, public defender Tânia Regina de Mattos and the president of the Federation of Public Servants of the State of Mato Grosso (FESSP-MT), Carmen Silvia Campos Machado. The objective was to consolidate proposals capable of facing historical challenges related to violence against women, health, economic autonomy and the guarantee of rights.
Among the main commitments are the creation of the State Secretariat for Women, with its own budget and regionalized operations; the implementation of the State Policy Plan for Women; the installation of Regional Women's Care Homes in the 16 intermunicipal consortia; strengthening the network to combat violence; expanding access to women's comprehensive health; and permanent policies to generate employment, income, professional qualifications and encourage female entrepreneurship.
"This letter represents much more than a set of proposals. It was born from listening and collective construction with women who know the reality of our State firsthand. Taking care of women means taking care of the health, safety, economy and future of Mato Grosso. We want these proposals to become permanent public policies, capable of improving women's lives in all regions of the State", said Dr. Natasha.
The letter, explains Carmen Machado, also proposes the creation of a state fund to finance public policies aimed at women, the expansion of the protection network for victims of violence, the strengthening of Specialized Police Stations for Women's Assistance, humanized care in the public health network, support for single mothers, expansion of the provision of daycare centers and actions aimed at protecting children and adolescents impacted by domestic violence.
For former councilor Edna Sampaio, the letter represents an agenda built based on the reality of women in Mato Grosso.
"Our purpose was to build a consistent document, based on the real needs of women. The proposals seek to transform historical demands into permanent State policies, guaranteeing protection, autonomy, opportunities and dignity for all women in Mato Grosso."
Public defender Tânia Regina de Mattos, representative of the NGO Lírios, highlighted that the document brings together proposals prepared by women who know firsthand the challenges faced daily by the female population.
"The letter strengthens the entire protection network for women, from violence prevention to access to health, justice and economic autonomy. It is a document constructed with responsibility and sensitivity, thinking about the real needs of women in Mato Grosso", pointed out the defender.
"I sign this letter with the conviction that governing is also caring. The women of Mato Grosso do not need occasional promises, but permanent public policies, built with dialogue, respect and responsibility. This document is a commitment to every woman from Mato Grosso and will be the basis of the actions we want to implement to guarantee more protection, autonomy, opportunities and dignity in all regions of the State", concluded Dr. Natasha.
