Mendes tries to take the Union to the re-election ticket of governor Otaviano Pivetta (Republicans). Jayme, however, puts her foot down and wants to run for the Executive.
Speaking to the press, Jayme said he was grateful for the courtesy, but that he has an “army of people” who want him to compete.
"He invited me again to see if I would go back, to be a candidate for senator. I told him the pure reality: no chance. Especially because my name is already placed as a pre-candidate and I have an army of people supporting me. And I could never betray these people", Jayme told Estadão MT this Tuesday (7).
