According to the report, the beginning of the fire was identified by employees, who immediately began the first fight using the equipment available at the company. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters directly fought the fire, which affected the bales of cotton feathers stored in the unit. To control and extinguish the fire, the building's own fire hydrants were used.
Despite the quick action of the teams, a large quantity of bales of cotton feathers were destroyed by the fire. Some machinery also suffered damage and will still undergo technical assessment, mainly because the company's electricity supply was interrupted during the incident.
After the flames were extinguished, firefighters carried out the aftermath work to eliminate possible remaining outbreaks. Combustible material was also removed to the external area of ??the building, reducing the risk of reignition. The causes of the fire were not disclosed and the losses will still be determined by the company after the completion of technical assessments on the affected equipment.
