A woman identified as Laudiane Maria dos Santos, aged 45, died after a white VW Gol rolled over yesterday, around 5pm, on a farm road in the district of Água Limpa, in Boa Esperança do Norte (216 km from Sinop)....
According to information from the Military Police, the owner of the farm reported that Laudiane and her companion, a 42-year-old man, who was driving the car, were in the vehicle. According to the witness, the driver lost control of the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle stopped in a heavily damaged cotton plantation area.
Still according to the PM, after the accident, the driver left the scene without providing assistance to his companion and fled in an unknown direction. While preserving the scene, police officers found beer cans inside the vehicle. Searches were carried out in the district in an attempt to locate him, but he had not been found until the incident ended.
The case was registered and forwarded to the Civil Police, who will investigate the circumstances of the accident, including the possible influence of alcohol when driving the vehicle and the driver's escape after the rollover.
