The Senegalese Football Federation reported that the Executive Committee has decided to begin the process of dismissing the coach and the entire technical committee. According to the entity, the measure was taken after a detailed assessment of sporting results and the prospects for the future of the team.
Even before the announcement, midfielder Pape Gueye had announced that he would not return to defend Senegal while Pape Thiaw remained in charge. The coach has been in charge of the team since 2022.
The changes, however, did not end the controversies. The president of the federation, Abdoulaye Fall, revealed that the professional responsible for leading the team's medical department for around ten years had a degree in gynecology and obstetrics.
According to Fall, the information was discovered during an internal audit carried out to identify the problems faced by the team. The leader, who took over the federation in 2025, admitted that he became aware of the situation too late.
"I recently discovered that Dr Fedior is a gynecologist and obstetrician. Our main doctor did not have the appropriate academic training to monitor the players. From what was reported to me, the athletes did not fully trust him", he stated during a press conference.
Another case revealed by the federation involved the cook who accompanied the delegation during the World Cup. The professional was dismissed after being accused of sexual harassment during the team's stay in the United States.
US authorities have not been contacted at this time. According to Abdoulaye Fall, the federation preferred to adopt internal measures to avoid possible police intervention and try to preserve the group's tranquility and the country's image.
The director acknowledged, however, that the episode further damaged the team's environment, which was already facing reports of indiscipline in different sectors.
During Senegal's participation in the World Cup, the international press also reported an alleged argument between Sadio Mané and Kalidou Koulibaly, two of the team's main names.

Undefeated in the tournament, teams will face one of the most anticipated clashes of the World Cup this Tuesday in Dallas. The winner will face England or Argentina in next Sunday's decision.
