Even with the Ecuadorian's return to activities, the board maintains the signing of a defender as an absolute priority and continues in the market in search of reinforcement for the sector.
The need for a new defender has gained strength in recent weeks due to a sequence of casualties in the squad. Doria terminated his contract with the club after receiving threats on social media, while Sabino was handed over to the medical department.
Furthermore, Nahuel Ferraresi, who was already on loan at Botafogo, is leaving. São Paulo reached a verbal agreement with Alvinegro to exchange the defender for midfielder Newton, a negotiation revealed by UOL.
