Registration for the second semester edition of Fies 2026 ends today
The deadline for registration in the Student Financing Fund (Fies) selection process for the second semester of 2026 ends this Thursday (17). Students interested in participating must access the Single Portal for Access...
Fies finances the graduation of students enrolled in non-free face-to-face courses at private colleges positively evaluated in the National Higher Education Assessment System (Sinaes) of the Ministry of Education.
The program primarily benefits students who have not completed higher education and have not benefited from student financing.
Vacancies
In total, the MEC offers more than 112 thousand vacancies for Fies in 2026, considering the opportunities in the first and second semesters, with 67,301 vacancies in the first, and 44,867 in the second.
In addition to the vacancies in the second semester, the MEC will also offer all vacancies that may not be occupied up to the total limit defined for this year.
Who can register
Candidates must meet the requirements established in the new notice:
have participated in the National High School Examination (Enem) from the 2010 edition onwards
have obtained an average equal to or greater than 450 points considering the five tests
not getting a grade of zero on the writing test
have monthly per capita gross family income of up to three minimum wages (R$4,863, in 2026)
Candidates who participated in Enem as a "trainer" cannot register for Fies.
Fies Social
The Fies selection process includes reserving 50% of places for students with a family income per person of up to half a minimum wage (R$810.50, in 2026) and with active registration in the federal government's Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico).
Those pre-selected for Fies Social vacancies will be able to request full financing, covering all educational costs.
Pre-selected students, with a family income of up to half a minimum wage per person, enrolled in Fies Social vacancies, are exempt from proving their family income directly at the private higher education institution.
Even so, they must attend the Permanent Supervision and Monitoring Committee (CPSA) of the respective private college to validate the other information provided at the time of registration.
