How did the murder of César Gastélum happen?

According to local authorities, Gastélum was recording content in front of a fast-food chain when two men arrived on a motorcycle.

One of the suspects approached and fired shots. The criminals fled soon after.

Part of the action was recorded by the influencer's broadcast at that time and also by security cameras in the region.

Rescue teams were called, but were only able to confirm the victim's death at the scene.

The Sinaloa Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motivation for the crime. So far, there is no information about arrests.

Known on social media as “Cesarín”, Gastélum accumulated around 580 thousand followers on TikTok, more than 22 million likes on the platform and more than 16 thousand subscribers on YouTube.

His videos were mainly focused on humor and everyday situations, with references to the culture of northern Mexico.

Police investigate possible link with criminal groups

According to Mexican vehicles, one of the lines of investigation considers possible connections between the influencer and people close to members of criminal groups operating in the region.

The authorities, however, have not officially confirmed this hypothesis and reported that all possibilities continue to be analyzed.
