"It is with immense sadness that we announce to our hardcore family around the world the passing of our brother Lou Koller. The scale of the loss we feel at this moment is overwhelming," the band wrote on Instagram.
"This year would have marked Sick Of It All's 40th anniversary as a band, and Lou's spirit of camaraderie, commitment and enthusiasm has remained unwavering over the years. We have lost a dear friend and an iconic lead singer."
Created in New York, in 1986, by brothers Lou and Pete Koller, Sick Of It All became one of the most influential names in hardcore worldwide. The group's first album was "Blood, Sweat and No Tears", from 1989. Five years later, came "Scratch the Surface", and, in 1997, "Built to Last", considered one of the most striking works in their discography. The band's last album was "Wake the Sleeping Dragon!", from 2018.
Throughout their career, Sick Of It All visited Brazil several times, especially São Paulo, where they gained a loyal base of admirers in the hardcore punk scene.
