Drake bets more than R$7 million on Argentina's victory over Spain in the World Cup final

SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) - Drake, 39, is confident in Argentina's victory in the World Cup. So much so that he shared on social media proof of a million-dollar bet he made on an online platform for which he is an ambassador.

The Canadian rapper bet US$1.5 million (around R$7.66 million at current exchange rates) that the result of the game against Spain will be 2-1 for the "hermanos". He also said he believes that at least one of the goals will be in stoppage time.

If the result comes true, Drake could earn US$5.1 million (more than R$26 million), according to the publication. "What's that saying again? Better luck next time," he wrote in the caption.

Despite supporting Argentina, it was Spain fans who were excited by the publication. This is because the rap star has a reputation for being cold-hearted in this type of sports betting.

"With this cold foot he has... now Spain has a better chance", commented presenter Felipe Andreoli. “You will lose money,” wrote the Goat BR profile.

Recently, Drake bet US$1 million (more than R$5 million) on Conor McGregor's victory over Max Holloway in a UFC fight. McGregor lost.

The same amount was bet by him in the Super Bowl final, in February. He thought the New England Patriots would win, but the game ended 29-13 for the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite his fame, the rapper has also won on a few occasions. In the World Cup itself, he was right that Canada would lose to Morocco in the World Cup. However, this time he bet just US$1 (about R$5), which made the gain very modest.
