The death was confirmed by the artist's husband, guitarist Luiz Otávio Braga, in a post on social media. She died on Monday (13), and the cause was not disclosed. "I inform my beloved Cláudia's friends of her disappearance, this Tuesday (14), at 5 pm, after suffering for a long time", wrote Luiz Otávio.
Born in Petrópolis (RJ), on July 1, 1948, Claudia Savaget Fiani began singing at the Clube 85 nightclub. Over the course of around three decades, she built a lean discography, with five albums released between 1974 and 2004.
Claudia was "Cartola's favorite singer" in the 1970s, according to reports at the time. In addition to performing works by the samba singer, Claudia also recorded compositions by names such as Chico Buarque, Dorival Caymmi, Edu Lobo, Torquato Neto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Paulinho da Viola and José Carlos Capinan.
