President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Friday (17) that he will not comment on the 25% tariff imposed by the United States on Brazilian products until American President Donald Trump speaks on the issue.

"I'll leave talking about tariffs when Trump speaks. When Trump speaks, I'll speak. Until he speaks, I won't speak," said Lula, during a visit to the National School of Public Health (ENSP/Fiocruz), in Rio de Janeiro. "In Brazil, no one wins by lying. Either they are more truthful than us, or they won't deceive Brazilian society."

In his speech, Lula also said that he would not talk about the tariff because "the news has to be the SUS, our women's health trucks, the treatment of women."

When citing treatment possibilities in the SUS, Lula stated that "we are not the best in the world, but we have to be proud to be Brazilian." "No one dares to speak ill of Brazil", he stressed.
