Nvidia recorded a 3.5% drop in the value of its shares. Currently, the company is valued at US$4.86 trillion, while Apple has reached a market value of US$4.88 trillion, being very close to the US$5 trillion mark.
The scenario draws attention because Nvidia is one of the main manufacturers of chips focused on artificial intelligence, while Apple has been criticized for difficulties in developing resources that take advantage of this technology.
Even so, Apple launched the public beta version of iOS 27 this week, which already includes the new generation of the Siri virtual assistant equipped with artificial intelligence features.
"Apple was seen as being behind in the artificial intelligence race because it wasn't investing in model development, but now that sentiment has changed," BRI Wealth Management chief investment officer Toni Meadows told Reuters.
"Apple is less exposed to the intensity of infrastructure investments and is better positioned to monetize artificial intelligence through services, integration with its ecosystem and hardware upgrades," he added.
According to Meadows, this revaluation "reflects confidence in the sustainability of earnings", rather than representing a "speculative valuation" related to artificial intelligence.
It is worth remembering that Apple will soon be without its current CEO, Tim Cook, who will leave command of the company. The position will be assumed by John Ternus and, considering his experience in the area of ??hardware development, it is possible that the company will begin to explore new ideas, concepts and even launch products that take even greater advantage of artificial intelligence resources.
