A seaplane made a forced landing in a river near the edge of Manhattan, in New York, on Sunday afternoon (05). The news was published by The New York Times with information from Fire Department and police authorities. According to the website, eight people were on board. AP News reported that there were 10 people. The two vehicles confirm that everyone was rescued and there were no injuries. The pilot, a crew member and six passengers were removed from the aircraft by fire crews and apparently did not suffer any injuries, authorities told the NYT. According to the website, the aircraft was departing from the Hamptons, which are coastal communities and luxury villas in New York, and was heading to a seaplane base when it hit a wave during landing, which caused the aircraft to partially overturn, firefighters and police reported. Videos and photos shared on social media show the rescue of the aircraft. Fire Department vessels towed the plane back to the pier. Witnesses told the website that the Police and Fire Department vessels and another seaplane that had already landed in the water, acted quickly and transported the passengers back to shore.
