11-year-old girl is shot in the head during McDonald's shooting

According to family members, the two were innocent victims of an argument that ended in gunshots late on June 27, a Saturday.

Oscar waited in the vehicle with his three children while the children's mother went into the restaurant to buy food. During this time, a fight broke out in the parking lot and escalated into gunfire.

Oscar was hit in the hip, and Dora was shot in the back of the head. The other two children, aged 2 and 5, were not injured.

According to updates released by the family, Dora is in stable condition, but remains hospitalized. Oscar has already been discharged and is recovering at home.

The girl underwent surgery, but still has the bullet lodged in her head. On a fundraising page, family members said doctors decided not to remove the bullet because the procedure could cause even greater damage. Dora continues to receive specialized care and must face a long recovery process.

The shooting suspect is 18-year-old Ralph N-Kosi Blue III. He worked at McDonald's and was arriving for work when he got into an argument with another person.

The restaurant's management reported that the young man was fired and that he is cooperating with the authorities.

According to NBC, Ralph was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. He is being held in Broward County without bail.
