The publisher responsible for “GTA VI”, Take-Two Interactive, officially presented its financial results for the second quarter of the year, and CEO Strauss Zelnick took the opportunity to speak to shareholders and investors about the pre-sales period for the latest game from Rockstar Games.

Although the pre-sales period only began on June 25th — which means that only five days were counted in the second quarter accounts —, Zelnick stated that “GTA VI” had an “exceptional start”.

“I can say that the level of pre-orders is unprecedented and surprising, and we are very grateful for that,” said Zelnick, according to Variety magazine. "But it's so unprecedented that we just don't know how it will translate into sales. We honestly don't know and we don't believe in declaring victory before it happens."

It is worth remembering that “GTA VI” will be released on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. There is no PC version announced, but considering Rockstar Games' release history, it is likely that a PC version of “GTA VI” will be announced between 2027 and 2028.

“GTA VI” will be shown on Netflix at the end of August

Rumors have been circulating for a few days that a third trailer for “GTA VI” would be released at the end of August and, it seems, this information was correct. However, it appears that not everyone will be able to see the new images once they are available.

Rockstar Games and Netflix have reached an agreement to present the new “GTA VI” trailer through a broadcast on the streaming service. The broadcast is already scheduled for August 27th, at 8pm (Lisbon time).

According to the website IGN, the trailer will be exclusive to Netflix for the first six hours. Therefore, fans who do not have an active Netflix subscription will only be able to check out the new images on platforms such as YouTube from 2am on August 28th.

If you have a Netflix account, you can now access the official broadcast page and activate the reminder to be notified when it starts.

It is not yet known exactly what will be seen during the broadcast, but considering that Netflix and Rockstar Games are promising an “extended view”, it is possible that we will have a more in-depth analysis of the gameplay and what will be possible to do in the game.

“The revelations of ‘Grand Theft Auto’ [‘GTA’] have become cultural moments in their own right,” states the Netflix statement.

“The enthusiasm and fan base surrounding ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ is unprecedented, and we are honored that Rockstar Games is collaborating with us to first introduce Netflix subscribers to the next chapter in the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ story,” the company states.

In the statement, Netflix notes that this type of initiative reflects the company's ambition for its streaming service, more specifically, to be “a place where the most ambitious narratives, from any medium, can find the widest possible audience”.
