This is the focus of Globo Repórter this Friday (10), which investigates the so-called machosphere and shows how this movement has reached increasingly younger teenagers. Also known by terms such as "red pill", in reference to the film Matrix, the movement brings together influencers and content creators who claim that men are losing space to women and defend the resumption of a supposed role of male superiority. The advancement of violence among adolescents The report had exclusive access to an unprecedented survey by the Children and Youth Court of Rio de Janeiro that points to a 600% increase in cases of gender-based violence committed by adolescents between 2019 and 2025. In addition to the increase in records, the age of the aggressors also fell: cases involving boys aged 12 and 13 became part of the Justice routine. Given the seriousness of the incidents, protective measures provided for in the Maria da Penha Law, previously more common in cases involving adults, began to be applied with increasing frequency also against adolescents.
