There are two simultaneous interventions taking place at the site, carried out by the city hall and the Santos Port Authority (APS). Port Authority (APS): The cost is R$27.8 million, covered by the federal government. Completion has been rescheduled for January 2027.
Municipal works Santos contracted TMK Engenharia to carry out the works, which began in August 2024. The intense flow of trucks, however, forced the stoppage of services in November of that year. To reconcile traffic with APS interventions, the municipal administration extended the contract twice. The first injected R$3.4 million; the current one extends the deadline to December 2026, without extra costs, totaling R$17.4 million. With 89% of the services already carried out, the project now enters the penultimate stage. See the planned interventions: Paving Rua Augusto Scaraboto; Construction of accessible sidewalks under the Paulo Bonavides Viaduct; Implementation of a drainage system; Installation of 34 LED luminaires (minimum useful life of 50 thousand hours); Cleaning and regularization of 9,207 m² for landscaping (with emerald grass slabs). Port Authority works The APS works began in November 2025 and were scheduled to be completed in December 2026. The services, however, needed to be rescheduled for January 2027. The investment is R$27.8 million. According to the entity, rain before the start of the works forced the schedule to be readjusted. APS highlighted that the contract with the F-Meng Alemoa Consortium is valid for 22 months. Therefore, the work can take place without the need for a financial addition or deadline until March 2027. The Port Authority's interventions include: Reconstruction of the port's exit lane, via Avenida Augusto Barata; Implementation of a rainwater drainage channel; Replacement of cobblestone flooring with asphalt; Changes to the region’s road system.
