Farmer's Week celebrates interaction between society, science and culture in Viçosa The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) holds, between the 18th and 24th of July, the 96th edition of Farmer's Week. This year's theme is 'Training people and transforming agriculture and livestock that feed Brazil and the world'. On the Viçosa campus, the program brings together around 400 courses, 11 conversations with experts and other training activities. Check below how to sign up. ? How to participate? Participants will be able to choose from more than 400 activities, with courses aimed at both rural producers and students and professionals in the sector. Among the main themes are: Coffee farming: production of specialty coffees, irrigation, pest and disease management, mechanization, pruning, sustainability and management of coffee properties; Livestock: management of beef and dairy cattle, genetics, nutrition, reproduction, milk quality, silage and animal welfare; Technology in the field: drone operation, aerial mapping, satellite images, precision agriculture and digital livestock farming; Sustainability: soil and water conservation, spring recovery, regenerative agriculture, bio-inputs and organic production; Fruit and horticulture: cultivation of bananas, citrus, pitaya, passion fruit, strawberries, vegetables and hydroponic systems; Beekeeping and animal husbandry: honey production, breeding of stingless bees, fish, birds, goats, horses and buffaloes; Rural management: rural credit, financial education, accounting, marketing and property management. Registration must be made by Tuesday (14) on the Farmer's Week website. The fee is R$160 and allows participation in up to 10 courses, depending on space availability. If there is still availability, it will also be possible to register in person during the event, starting on Saturday (18). Farmer's Week Held annually on the UFV campus, Farmer's Week was created in 1929, in the first years of the then Escola Superior de Agricultura e Veterinária (ESAV), with the aim of bringing together rural producers, students, researchers, technicians and representatives of the agricultural sector in training activities and exchange of experiences.
