A team of firefighters entered the residence, fought the fire and controlled the flames. A resident entered the residence to try to rescue the victim, but the flames had already engulfed the room, making rescue impossible. The Military Police reported that, according to a preliminary assessment by the Scientific Police, there is evidence that the fire was caused by a short circuit in a fan located in the room where the victim was.
