Ygor Motta, from the duo VJ Suave, immerses himself in the virtual reality of the Enchanted Forest project Disclosure Virtual reality is the path chosen by the duo VJ Suave to talk about nature, memory and environmental preservation. This proposal arrives in Belém for the first time on Thursday (17), with the opening of the Enchanted Forest exhibition, at the Centro Cultural Banco da Amazônia (CCBA), where the public will be able to experience an immersive experience inspired by the Amazon. Created by artists Ygor Marotta and Ceci Soloaga, the installation relies on technology as a tool to awaken sensations and provoke reflections on forest preservation. "Technology does not appear as something distant from nature, but as a means of enchantment", says Marotta. "We wanted to use a tool from the present to awaken an ancestral connection." The proposal breaks with the most common logic of virtual reality experiences. Instead of challenges, phases or disputes, the visitor freely travels through an imaginary forest, encountering rivers, trees, animals and characters inspired by Brazilian fauna and indigenous knowledge. "There is no mission. It is a sensorial, poetic and contemplative experience", explains the artist. According to him, the idea came about when the group started drawing directly in three-dimensional virtual reality environments. "We realized that this technology had a very special power: it doesn't just show an image, but transports the audience into a world." With 3D animations, interactive games and spatial sounds, the exhibition transports the public to an enchanted forest Disclosure From the city to the forest Known internationally for urban projections on facades, streets and squares, the duo VJ Suave considers Enchanted Forest a new moment in their trajectory. In the installation, the public stops being just spectators and becomes part of the work. "It was a natural evolution of our research. The public stopped observing the work from the outside and began to inhabit the universe we created", says Ygor Marotta. After traveling through different Brazilian capitals, the installation arrives in the Amazon for the first time. For Marotta, presenting the work in Belém represents an encounter between the virtual forest created by the artists and a territory where the relationship with nature and original knowledge is part of everyday life. "It's different to present this work in a city where the relationship with nature and original knowledge is not something distant or abstract, but something alive. The Enchanted Forest arrives in a territory that already carries many of the energies and questions that inspired the project", he states. According to the artist, art can spark a closer relationship with environmental preservation by creating emotional connections with the forest. "We take better care of what we learn to admire, respect and feel as part of our own lives", he concludes. ? Follow the g1 Pará channel on WhatsApp
