'Volta Redonda City of Music' Project welcomes university musicians from the United States The 'Volta Redonda City of Music' Project began, this Monday (13), a musical and cultural exchange with professors and musicians from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM), in the United States. The program brings together students, teachers and members of the project's musical groups in a series of training activities that continue until next Saturday (18). The first day featured rehearsals by the Concert Band and String Orchestra, as well as classes taught by teachers Travis Reeder, Borislava Iltcheva, Alexander Roussakovski and conductor Colin Mckenzie. According to the project coordinator, the initiative seeks to provide students with contact with different teaching methodologies and international musical experiences. ?Click here and join the g1 channel on WhatsApp This Tuesday (14), teachers from the American university visited the municipal schools Paulo VI and Bahia, which carry out activities under the City of Music Project. During the visit, they watched student presentations and learned about the musical initiation work carried out in the brass bands, marching band, percussion, fife and strings. In addition to the pedagogical activities, the exchange will also feature a free program open to the public. The musicians will perform in different parts of Volta Redonda during the city's 72nd anniversary celebrations. Schedule of presentations: Thursday (16), at 7pm: Chamber Recital at the Maestro Nicolau Martins de Oliveira headquarters, in the Vila Mury neighborhood. Friday (17th), Volta Redonda's anniversary: ??performance of the Concert Band, the Marching Band and the Children's Choir at the Teatro Maestro Franklin de Carvalho Jr., in the Laranjal neighborhood. Saturday (18), at 7pm: performance by the String Orchestra and the Children's Choir at the Teatro Maestro Franklin de Carvalho Jr., in the Laranjal neighborhood.
