The victims were rescued and taken to Hugo Miranda Municipal Hospital. The child succumbed to his injuries and died in the unit. The teenager remained hospitalized, conscious, and in stable condition. The 5-year-old girl is in serious condition and was transferred to another hospital unit in Rio de Janeiro. A forensic team was at the scene to gather information that could assist in the investigation. Two cases of 9 mm and .380 ammunition were collected. The child's body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML). The Civil Police also reported that they maintain surveillance at the hospital to guarantee the safety of survivors and collect new statements as soon as medical authorization is obtained. In a statement, Hugo Miranda Hospital offered solidarity to the family members and informed that the identity of the victims will not be revealed, in compliance with the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA). The girl, who is in a serious condition, will be transferred to a more complex hospital unit, which has not yet been announced, where she will continue specialized treatment.
