More than 50 birds are seized in a cockfight in Timon (MA) An operation by the Military Police of Maranhão (PMMA) interrupted a cockfight this Saturday afternoon (11), in the village of Piranhas, in the rural area of ??Timon. According to the Military Police, the birds showed injuries and signs of mistreatment. Four roosters died this Sunday morning (12) as a result of their injuries. The owner of the property was arrested for animal cruelty and illegal possession of a firearm. He was taken to the Timon Police Station. The participants who were identified had their data recorded and should be investigated by the Civil Police. During the escape, one of the participants injured his right leg. He was treated by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to a health unit.
