Camera records moment when man steals gas pipe in Americana A man stole a copper pipe from the gas network of a house in Jardim São Roque, in Americana (SP), and caused a strong leak on Sunday night (19). Security cameras recorded the moment of the theft - watch above. Because of the leak, teams from the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), the Fire Department, Civil Defense and the São Paulo Gas Company (Comgás) were called to respond to the incident. The property's gas supply had to be interrupted to avoid accidents. Based on the images, municipal guards searched the neighborhood and found copper pipes in a property on Rua Paraopeba, in an improvised deposit of recyclable materials. The person responsible for the space claimed that he had purchased the piping from an unknown couple. He was taken to the Judiciary Police Center (CPJ) and was arrested in the act. The Civil Police investigate the case to identify and arrest the person responsible for the theft. ?
