Dentist improvises birthday party for patient at health center in RS A dentist surprised a patient with an improvised birthday party at a health center of the Unified Health System (SUS) in Araricá, in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre. The video, published by dental surgeon Paola Scalcon Bauer on social media, has already received more than 200 thousand views and 22 thousand likes. Upon discovering that Valdir Assunção had his 69th birthday on the day of the appointment, last Monday (27), the dentist decided to organize a celebration. After calling him, he opened the office door and welcomed the patient with congratulatory music, a sweet treat and even "balloons" made from surgical gloves. ? The recording, in fact, was intended to send her the video, but it turned out really cute and I ended up posting it. I made the glove balloon when I called him, but I took the sweetie from home", he says. Regarding the repercussion of the video, Paola says that she didn't expect it to be so big, but that she was very happy with the response from the public, who were moved by the recording. "I was very happy with people's feedback and, especially, with the comments from colleagues in the profession saying that this gesture made them reflect and that they would like to bring this more welcoming approach to service as well. I think this shows that small gestures can really make a difference", he says. The health professional argues that good care needs to combine technique and reception. "It's about carrying out a quality procedure, but remembering that your patient is a human being and needs this reception. Care makes all the difference."
