Those responsible for the trade were fined R$2,689.40, taken to the police station and released. The case is investigated by the Civil Police. The clinic is located in the Jardim Praia Grande neighborhood. The joint operation of Health Surveillance, the Commerce Inspection sector and the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) found several health irregularities in the establishment. She reported that four pets suffered serious complications after undergoing procedures at the clinic. One of them had died, according to the statement.

During the inspection, the teams identified bathrooms in inadequate hygienic conditions, the absence of a fixed sink with running water in the office and irregular disposal of sharps. Inspectors also found an oxidized freezer used to store animal corpses in a circulation corridor, in addition to a lack of sterilization sheets and basic supplies. The site also did not have mandatory documents, including the Fire Department Inspection Report (AVCB) and the pest control certificate.
