According to the organization, artists and groups from different regions of the state will be able to join the program through a public call, which will be announced on the project's official channels. The initiative seeks to stimulate the circulation of cultural productions and strengthen the creative economy. In addition to the presentations, Usina Viva will have actions aimed at training artists and cultural producers. Among them are a dramaturgy course, a laboratory for developing audiovisual projects and encouraging scenic projects in the creation phase. According to the project's cultural producer, Guilherme Rezende Jr., the proposal is to promote a discussion about the responsible use of artificial intelligence. "The idea is to discuss how these tools should be used. It is not simply talking about Artificial Intelligence, but about the ethics involved in the process of use, about how to transform memory and territory into authorial languages. It is about autonomy. In 2026 we are talking about the future, so for Usina Viva, talking about the future is the future in development", he stated. Almost 5 thousand people participated in the 2025 edition. The previous edition of Usina Viva, held in 2025, had the memory of Nova Friburgo as its theme and brought together 4,796 participants, according to the organization. Over the course of six months, musical performances, theatrical shows, workshops, cinema sessions, exhibitions, debates and traveling actions were promoted. One of the highlights was the Memories Booth, which was attended by 720 people. For the CEO of Energisa Minas Rio, Fernando Costalonga, support for the project contributes to the development of the region through culture. "We believe that the development of a region goes beyond infrastructure. It involves strengthening culture, education, innovation and valuing people. That's why Energisa supports projects like Usina Viva, which expand access to cultural production, encourage the training of new professionals and encourage reflection on the challenges and opportunities of the future", he said. According to the organizers, the program will be published monthly and will include notices for artistic presentations, film project residencies and regular dramaturgy courses.
