Unicamp opens registrations for the 2027 Entrance Exam with 2,500 vacancies and two new courses The State University of Campinas (Unicamp) opened registrations for the 2027 Entrance Exam this Monday (3) with news for candidates. The main one is the offer of two new courses and the expansion of testing locations. The selection process will also have changes in the first call, with the call for more candidates than the number of vacancies, and will allow participants from the city of São Paulo to choose the region where they wish to take the test. Candidates can register online until August 31st. According to the Permanent Commission for Entrance Exams (Comvest), the first phase of the selection process should take place on October 18th. The second is scheduled for November 29th and 30th. In total, 2,523 places are offered in 70 degrees. The main change in the Unicamp Entrance Exam for 2027 is the debut of artificial intelligence and data science and international relations courses. There will also be changes to the call for the first call and the choice of the test location for candidates from the city of São Paulo. Check out the details: The artificial intelligence and data science course will be offered on a shared basis by the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA) and the Faculty of Technology (FT). The degree will be full-time with 40 places. The international relations course will be offered by FCA, full-time, with 60 places from 2027. With the creation of this new degree, Unicamp reduced the number of places on the administration/evening course to 60, which currently offers 180 places. The reduction does not change the total number of vacancies in the unit, as the vacancies will be compensated by the opening of international relations. Another change is the extinction of the environmental sanitation technology course, offered by the Faculty of Technology. The course will no longer be offered from the 2027 entrance exam, without prejudice to students already enrolled, who will be able to complete their training. The strategy is called “overbooking” by the commission. According to the commission, around 40% of candidates called in the first call do not enroll, mainly because they end up choosing other educational institutions. Given this history, the university will start inviting more candidates on the first call, with the aim of speeding up the filling of vacancies and optimizing the flow of enrollments. The measure, however, will not increase the number of students admitted to each course. If the number of candidates who pre-register is greater than the total number of places offered, Unicamp will enroll according to the classification obtained in the entrance exam, respecting the limit set out in the notice. For example, if 51 candidates pre-register for a course with 50 places, the 50 best classified will be admitted. Pre-registration works as an initial reservation of the place and also depends on the presentation and validation of the documents required by the university. The candidate who falls outside the vacancy limit will return to the classified list and may be called again if a vacancy arises in subsequent calls. New test application locations From this entrance exam, the Unicamp test will be applied in 33 municipalities in the state of São Paulo, with the inclusion of Vinhedo and Paulínia, in addition to the capitals Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasília (DF), Curitiba (PR), Fortaleza, (CE) Recife (PE), Salvador (BA) and São Paulo (SP).
