Uepa opens registrations for free language courses Agência Pará The State University of Pará (Uepa) has opened registrations for Free Language Courses, with English and Spanish classes aimed at the academic community and the general public. In total, 20 classes will be offered, with in-person and online options, on the campus of the Center for Social Sciences and Education (CCSE), in Belém. ? Follow the g1 Pará channel on WhatsApp Registrations can be made between the 13th and 31st of July, exclusively via the university's website. Confirmation of approved registration will be sent directly to the email provided by the candidate, according to the selection notice.

Vacancies and modalities In the English offering, Uepa offers 14 classes, including regular courses from levels 1 to 5, in face-to-face and online format, in addition to an Instrumental English class, aimed at preparing for proficiency exams required in master's and doctoral programs. In Spanish, there will be 6 classes, with face-to-face options from levels 1 to 4 and online classes at levels 1 and 2. Each class will have 25 places, 20 for paying students and five reserved for Uepa employees receiving a scholarship. If there is demand and availability of instructors and physical space, the university reported that new classes may be opened. Target audience and content The courses are aimed at Uepa students, students and technicians, as well as the external community, as long as the candidate is at least 17 years old. The proposal is to expand access to learning foreign languages ??and strengthen communicative, intercultural and interaction skills in English and Spanish. The university also highlights the extension nature of the initiative, which seeks to bring the institution closer to the community and expand language training opportunities. Regular courses have a workload of 60 hours per level and are organized into seven semester levels. What the course will be like The Instrumental English course will be offered synchronously online, on Saturdays, from 8:30 am to 11:15 am, with a focus on reading and interpreting academic texts. Classes will be taught by Uepa students selected as instructors, under the supervision of the institution's teachers. In-person classes will take place at CCSE, in Belém. Participants in online classes will receive, via email, the link to access the virtual rooms. Registration and costs To compete, the candidate must fill out the electronic form and attach, in a single PDF file, an official document with photo, CPF, updated proof of residence and, in the case of Uepa employees, proof of institutional affiliation. Anyone who wants to enter directly into more advanced levels will need to take a placement test, by scheduling an appointment via email after confirming their registration. As they are self-sustainable courses, the investment is R$70 for registration, plus four monthly fees of R$70. Classes begin on August 22nd for Saturday classes, on August 26th for Wednesday classes and on August 27th for Thursday classes, with activities scheduled until December.
