Two women are shot dead in Trajano de Moraes; one of them had reported threats on social media days before

Statement from victim Nair Faria do Carmo, 49 years old. Two women were shot dead on Saturday morning (4), in the district of Barra dos Passos, in Trajano de Moraes, in the North of Fluminense. The victims were identified as Nair Faria do Carmo, aged 49, and Rayssa de Souza Bessa, aged 26. Days before the murder, Nair published a video on social media stating that she was being threatened with death (see the video above). According to the Civil Police, the two were driving to Conceição de Macabu, where they were studying technical nursing, when they were surprised by criminals on a motorcycle. The suspects approached the vehicle and fired several shots before fleeing. Nair was hit by more than 10 shots. ? Rayssa was rescued and taken to Trajano de Moraes Hospital, but died shortly afterwards. The two were students on the technical nursing course at the Macabuense Institute of Technological Education (IMET). Rayssa used to carpool to the course constantly with Nair. In Nair's video recording, she said she feared for her own life and the safety of her family after being accused by third parties of involvement in a robbery in a rural area. In the image, the victim stated that, if something happened to her or someone in her family, there were audios and conversations that could help identify the person responsible for the threats. In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the investigation is in its initial phase. The location has undergone forensic examination and agents are carrying out efforts to identify the perpetrators of the crime and clarify their motivation. The police are also looking for images from security cameras, in addition to listening to witnesses and relatives of the victims. Regarding the robbery mentioned by the victim in this video, there is an ongoing investigation at the Police Station. Until the publication of this report, no one had been arrested.
