Crime due to jealousy in Belém In Belém, the murder took place in a village of houses located on Avenida Cipriano Santos, in the traditional neighborhood of Canudos. The victim was stabbed to death by his own partner inside the property. According to preliminary investigations, the motivation for the crime was jealousy. The suspect attacked his companion after viewing messages on her cell phone. The Military Police were called by neighbors and managed to arrest the man in the act while still at the scene. He was taken to the Police Station Specialized in Women's Assistance (DEAM) in Belém. According to the Civil Police, the man was charged with the crime of feminicide and remains at the disposal of the Judiciary. Technical expertise was requested at the crime scene and witnesses have already begun to be interviewed to assist in the conclusion of the investigation. She could not resist the severity of the injury and died before medical help arrived. According to police information, the man was already being investigated on suspicion of involvement in another criminal activity in the region: extortion linked to the collection of the so-called "crime tax" in the municipality. When located by police officers after the murder of his partner, the man resisted arrest and shot at the police. In the confrontation, he was shot and died. At the scene, the police seized a firearm with the number removed and ammunition of different calibers. All seized material was sent to the Igarapé-Açu Civil Police station to undergo ballistics examination. The case remains under investigation.
