According to the Civil Police, the seizure took place during an operation to combat drug trafficking and criminal organizations in the region. The agents received information that two suspects were selling drugs near the housing complex known as Casinhas do Bracuí. According to the police, the teams set up a siege at the location. Upon noticing the agents approaching, the teenagers tried to escape on a motorcycle. During the attempt to escape, one of them threw a bag of drugs and a radio communicator into a wooded area, but both were caught and apprehended. The corporation also reported that investigations point to the duo's involvement in a criminal organization that operates in the region. The teenagers were taken to the Angra dos Reis police station, where the case was registered for an infraction similar to the crime of drug trafficking.
