The Tocantins Electoral Court (TRE-TO) initiated a series of guidelines on so-called "prohibited conduct", which aim to prevent the use of the public structure to favor candidacies and ensure balance in the electoral dispute. The restrictions provided for in TSE Resolution No. 23,757/2026, published this Tuesday (7), involve everything from the movement of servers to official communication and the use of public assets. Failure to comply with the rules may result in fines, revocation of candidacy registration and even ineligibility. ? As a rule, until the inauguration of those elected, scheduled for January of next year, appointments and hirings, dismissals without just cause, as well as removals, transfers and dismissals are prohibited, except for the exceptions provided for by law. Furthermore, voluntary transfers of resources between the Union, states and municipalities are suspended, except in cases authorized by legislation.

Campaigns about government works, programs and actions can no longer be publicized, except in cases of serious and urgent public need recognized by the Electoral Court. The rule determines that content with images, names or slogans that could promote authorities in electoral dispute must be removed or adapted to avoid favoring candidates. The measure also applies to publications made by public bodies before the beginning of electoral restrictions. Combating misinformation The resolution reinforces that the digital environment is also subject to supervision. It is prohibited to use the internet and messaging applications to spread disinformation, manipulated content or attacks on the electronic voting system. Practices considered serious can be characterized as abuse of political or economic power. The prohibited conduct also prohibits: Use of vehicles, properties and other public assets in campaigns; Distribution of goods or benefits for electoral purposes; Hiring artistic shows with public resources for openings; Participation of candidates in public works inauguration events.
