Elections 2026: TRE-AM intensifies preparations for this year's elections The Regional Electoral Court of Amazonas (TRE-AM) began, this Monday (6), tests on 275 electronic voting machines that will be used in the 2026 Elections. The action is part of the 18th National Hardware Simulation, carried out by the Electoral Court to verify the functioning of the equipment and voting systems before the election. The tests continue until Friday (10). Over the five days of simulation, 55 ballot boxes will be evaluated per day, models manufactured in 2013, 2015, 2020 and 2022. The simulation reproduces all stages of an official election. The process begins with the preparation of the ballot boxes, including entering the necessary information for voting, and continues until the end of the simulated election. During the tests, the performance of the equipment and the integration between the systems that make up the electronic voting process are evaluated. ? Join the g1 AM channel on WhatsApp Voting includes the positions of federal deputy, state deputy, two vacancies for senator, governor and president of the Republic. The votes are fictitious and recorded by Electoral Court employees and collaborators who previously registered as voluntary voters. According to the coordinator of the TRE-AM Computerized Voting Section, Wanderley Oliveira, the objective is to validate all stages of the process before the 2026 Elections. "This is a test that reproduces the environment of an official election, allowing us to evaluate not only the functioning of the electronic voting machines, but also the integration between the systems that make up the electronic voting process. It is an opportunity to validate all procedures before the 2026 Elections," he stated. According to TRE-AM, the simulation is one of the preparation stages for the election and allows identifying the behavior of the ballot boxes in an environment similar to that of an official election, contributing to the security and reliability of the electoral process.
