Traditional Creole horse competition gets a children's version in RS The traditional Creole horse pallet competitions have a version to encourage a new generation of fans of the sport. Instead of real animals, wooden horses and toy oxen come into play. But the rest remains faithful to the official competitions: there is a chute, a track, judges, pairs of competitors and a lot of emotion, reproducing each stage of the test that established the Crioula breed. ? Access the g1 RS channel on WhatsApp In honor of the Italian ethnic group, the initiative was named Paleteada Per Bambini and is organized by the Núcleo de Criadores de Cavalos Crioulos dos Vinhedos (Serra) and has already aroused the interest of dozens of children who accompany their parents to the competitions. The event was held at the Festa da Uva Pavilions, in Caxias do Sul, and has an organizing committee made up of teenagers between 13 and 15 years old, responsible for helping to organize and conduct the competitions. According to Jully Daboit, a member of the group, the idea was born after realizing the interest of the little ones in the sport and the need to bring them closer to life in the countryside. "Today we notice a need for children to be closer to nature and animals. The project provides exactly that, in addition to strengthening the bond with Gaucho culture from an early age", he says. Among the parents following the initiative is Crioulo Horse breeder Thiago Felipe de Quadros. His son, Felipe Azevedo de Quadros (on the right in the video above), is among the Paleteada Per Bambini competitors. “It’s very gratifying to see these kids participating and keeping the tradition alive from an early age.” For Thiago, the competition goes beyond just playing and helps to awaken children's interest in country culture and the Crioulo Horse from an early age. "We encourage them because they are the future of the sport. It's a way for them to learn, develop a love for racing and keep alive this passion that passes from father to son", he says.
