TO Health Inspectorate opens process to investigate suspicion of undue charges for patient transfers

State Department of Health of Tocantins Ananda Santos/Government of Tocantins Six public servants are being investigated for charging family members fees to accompany patients who need transfers from state hospitals. According to the state, there is evidence of improper practice by civil servants who violate the administrative morality provided for in the Statute of Civil Public Servants of the State of Tocantins. The ordinance was published in the Official Gazette of Tocantins on July 9, 2026. According to the document, civil servants are investigated for: Using their position to take personal advantage or that of third parties, to the detriment of the dignity of public service; Receive bribes, commissions, gifts or advantages of any kind, due to their duties; Using personnel or material resources of the department in particular services or activities. According to the Public Servants Statute, infractions, if proven, can lead to dismissal.
