The action is part of Operation Nexus, launched by the Homicide Unit of the 6th Sectional Civil Police Station (6th DSPC), with support from the Homicide Division of the Civil Police of Santa Catarina. According to the Civil Police, the investigation gathered elements that made it possible to identify the participation of each of those investigated in the crime. During the investigation, the police found that some of the suspects had left Paraíba in an attempt to hinder police action. With the sharing of information between the police of the two states, four people under investigation were located and arrested in Blumenau, in Santa Catarina. Another suspect was arrested in Alhandra, Paraíba. The other warrants were carried out in prison units in João Pessoa, where five people under investigation were already arrested for other criminal proceedings.
