Presidente Figueiredo Police Station, in AM Jean Palheta/PC-AM A 16-year-old teenager reported a 19-year-old co-worker for attempted rape inside the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in Presidente Figueiredo, in the interior of Amazonas. The case, which would have happened on July 1st, is being investigated by the Civil Police of Amazonas, through the 37th Integrated Police District (DIP). Both worked there as young apprentices. According to documents obtained by g1, the two were alone in a room on the second floor of the public building at the time of the incident. In a statement to the police, the teenager reported that she was talking to her colleague while using a paper shredder, when she was surprised by the young man. The victim stated that the boy had held her by force and tried to kiss her. According to the report, even after she asked to stop and said that the situation was uncomfortable, the young man continued to hold her and committed lewd acts. The young woman stated that she managed to push the boy, fled the scene and sought shelter at a friend's house. g1 requested a note from the suspect, but until the publication of this report there was no response. ? Later, he allegedly insisted that she "resolve everything without involving the secretariat" because he needed the job.

The incident was registered by the teenager's mother, who went to the police station to formalize the complaint and request protective measures, informing that her daughter was deeply shaken. g1 contacted Presidente Figueiredo City Hall, responsible for the administration of CRAS, to find out if the municipality was already aware of the case and what measures should be adopted in relation to the employees involved. Until the last update of this report, there was no response. What the victim's defense says In a note sent to g1, lawyers Doracy Queiroz de Oliveira Neta and Thayane Costa, who represent the teenager, expressed indignation with the conduct of the investigation and pointed out alleged state negligence. According to the technical defense, the police would have delayed sending the young woman to the forensic examination, sending her to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Manaus four days after the incident, which would have hampered the collection of physical evidence. The lawyers highlight that, even in the face of elements such as text messages, there was no representation for preventive detention nor the imposition of protective measures. The lawyers repudiated what they consider to be slowness in the process, stating that the delay favors impunity. The defense informed that it will adopt the appropriate judicial and administrative measures to investigate the conduct of the agents involved.
